Uninsured? Underinsured? Have questions about health insurance or the Affordable Care Act? We can help you navigate through MNsure. The 2022 open enrollment period ended January 15, 2022. The next enrollment period will begin in Fall 2022. If you miss this deadline, you may still be able to get health coverage outside the annual open enrollment period.

SPECIAL ENROLLMENT

Special enrollment is open only to those who qualify. Special enrollment period (SEP) is a time outside the annual open enrollment period when you can enroll in a private health insurance plan. You will qualify for a special enrollment period only if you've had "qualifying life events." Examples of these life events include having a baby, getting married, moving to a new area, gaining U.S. citizenship, or losing other health coverage.

Even though the deadline has passed, you and/or your family may still be eligible to apply for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare. If you qualify for Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare, you do not need to qualify for special enrollment. You can enroll in one of these programs through MNsure at any time of the year.
